A number of state parks exist in and around Palm Coast, but the most spectacular by far is the Washington Oaks State Garden. Less than 2 miles north of the Villas, Washington Oaks includes a large rose garden, several exotic species of plants, enormous live oaks, and a shady citrus grove. Other parks in the area include Gamble Rogers State Recreation Area and the Bulow Plantation Ruins Historic State Park.
